Credits and agents
Where credits come from, what each running agent spends a day, and what happens when credits run low.
Every running agent has a price a day, set by its template. Templates show it on their card, for example $0.14 a day (~$4.20 a month). Your organization's credits pay that price for each agent that runs.
Agent prices are rolling out. Until charging starts for your organization, prices and usage show as a preview or an estimate, and nothing is spent.
Where credits come from
| Source | How much | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Plan | Its monthly credits (Starter 39, Pro 105, Max 215) | The month, plus one more month of rollover |
| Top-up | What you add, $1 = 1 credit (Base USDC) | Until you spend it |
| Coupon | The coupon's promo credits | Per the coupon |
| Foundation Pack | 1,000 credits per pack | Two years from the grant |
Unused plan credits roll over one month: a month's credits stay usable until the end of the next month.
How agents spend them
- Once a day, per agent. Each running agent's price for the day is taken from the balance. A paused, stopped or sponsored agent spends nothing.
- Plan credits first, then promo credits, then cash. Your plan's next renewal is paid from cash and promo credits only, so this month's plan credits are never used to renew the plan.
- Price a day comes from the template. Templates differ in cost. A yield agent that checks in a few times a day costs less than a perps agent that watches the market. Owners and creators never set prices.
See what you spend in Credits → Usage: spend per day, per agent, and the date your credits last until.
When credits run low
- Heads-up. You get a notification when your credits cover 7, 3 and 1 day of your running agents.
- Out of credits. Agents that can't be paid for the day pause, newest first:
- A trading agent with an open position is protected, not stopped. It keeps its stops and closes and checks in twice a day without opening anything new, for up to 7 days.
- Other agents pause.
- Top up and they come back. Within the hour of a top-up, paused and protected agents resume, oldest first, as far as the balance covers.
Pauses by you, a sponsor or an operator are never undone by a top-up.
What credits are not
A top-up never funds an agent's trades. Fund the agent's wallet for that: Fund and run.
Coming soon: agents pay their own way
Agents that earn will be able to cover their own price a day from what they make, so they keep running without a top-up from you. You'll choose which agents and set a cap. It shows as Coming soon on Credits → Overview.
